Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Blue Springs, MO is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) to provide respiratory care under physician orders. The role focuses on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care across age groups in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsibilities include treating patients with inhalation therapy, conducting pulmonary tests, managing ventilators, and participating in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC; exemption if hired before March 2026.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintained.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from AHA/ARC within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Two years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Will provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily
• Conduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently
• May be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, providing airway management and resuscitation
• Assess patients' respiratory status, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety

Education

Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license

Current NBRC CRT certification

BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree preferred

They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Two (2) years of acute care experience required.
