Job summary

fcmcpa is seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist to join our full-time team. The role requires evaluating residents’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities and creating individualized treatment plans to restore function and quality of life.

Daily duties include documenting progress and preparing care plans for the interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate holds a National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification and has ongoing CE requirements; shift types are varied,

Qualifications

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification by the NCTRC and two years' experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years.
• Continuing education as required to maintain certification.

JOB SUMMARY:

Evaluates residents' physical and cognitive abilities, social and emotional behaviors, and leisure/play interests. As part of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, provides individualized, comprehensive treatment plans to restore abilities and add quality of life, which will improve their function and independence or eliminate the effects of illness or disability. Prepare required documentation and reports including but not limited to progress notes, care plans, attendance records, calendars, and articles for Nursing Home newsletter. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification and two years' experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years. Must have completed the required course education and practicum. Continuing education as required to maintain certification.
