Job summary

Fulton County Medical Center is seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist to join our full-time team. You will evaluate residents’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities and leisure interests, and contribute to individualized treatment plans within an interdisciplinary team.

The role involves documenting progress, care plans, and schedules, with varied shifts and an exempt salary scale. A CTRS certification and practicum completion are required, along with ongoing continuing

Qualifications

• CTRS certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
• Two years' experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years.
• Continued education as required to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities and leisure interests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to restore abilities and improve quality of life.
• Prepare documentation and reports: progress notes, care plans, calendars, newsletters.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to support function and independence.

Job Summary

Evaluates residents' physical and cognitive abilities, social and emotional behaviors, and leisure/play interests. As part of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, provides individualized, comprehensive treatment plans to restore abilities and add quality of life, which will improve their function and independence or eliminate the effects of illness or disability. Prepare required documentation and reports including but not limited to progress notes, care plans, attendance records, calendars, and articles for Nursing Home newsletter. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification and two years' experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years. Must have completed the required course education and practicum. Continuing education as required to maintain certification.
