Job summary

Eagleville Hospital in Eagleville, PA seeks a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to provide activity-based services aligned with experiential therapy across all hospital programs. You will deliver patient education and lead recreational therapy sessions within Life Skills and other groups, supporting therapy teams and patient well-being.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in therapeutic recreation and the National Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification, with computer documentation

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in therapeutic recreation is required.
• National Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education and recreational therapy services to patients in all hospital programs.
• Support therapeutic recreation for patients at scheduled times and orient to adjunctive therapy services, facilities, and equipment.
• Participate in departmental and team meetings as scheduled.
• Complete all documentation according to department policy and procedure.
• Request supplies or equipment and assist in maintenance of equipment.
• Support weekend visiting and patient recreation as scheduled in staff rotation.

Provide specialized activity based services consistent with an experiential therapy approach and therapeutic recreation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide patient education and recreational therapy services to patients in all Eagleville Hospital programs consistent with program scheduling, including Life Skills and other specialty groups.
• Support therapeutic recreation for patients at scheduled times as available, and provide orientation to all adjunctive therapy services, facilities, and equipment.
• Participate in departmental and team meetings as scheduled.
• Complete all documentation according to department policy and procedure.
• Request supplies or equipment needed and is actively involved in the maintenance of equipment.
• Support weekend visiting and patient recreation as scheduled in staff rotation.

Undergraduate Degree in therapeutic recreation. Must have National Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification.

Qualifications

Previous experience in D&A and MH preferred. Computer skills necessary for documentation in an electronic record.
