Job summary

Millwood Hospital in Arlington, TX is seeking a Recreation/Activity Therapy Counselor to plan and deliver activity services within an interdisciplinary treatment team, defining and implementing treatment goals for patients across age groups.

You will provide continuous care, observation, and role modeling for children through senior adults in a 134-bed facility affiliated with Universal Health Services, with shift-diff pay on some shifts and mandatory orientations. CPR and CPI training required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Art, Music, Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related field; Master's in Art Therapy preferred.
• One year of related psychiatric care experience preferred.
• Certification or licensure in art, recreation, or music therapy; CPR certification required; CPI training required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activity services for assigned program with treatment goals as part of the treatment team.
• Provide continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling for patients.
• Attend full hospital and departmental orientations; shift diff pay available for some shifts.
