Job summary

Northwell Health in Westchester, NY is seeking a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to review clinical documentation and assign CPT and ICD-10 codes for anesthesia services. This hybrid position combines 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, with standard daytime hours and a 1-hour lunch.

The ideal candidate holds CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification, 2+ years of anesthesia/surgical coding experience, and solid knowledge of anatomy, physiology and coding guidelines. EPIC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 codes for anesthesia services.
• Post charges and ensure payer and regulatory compliance.
• Reconcile posted charges against operating room schedules.
• Identify anesthesia time discrepancies; resolve complex coding issues as needed.
• Maintain coding accuracy and meet daily productivity targets.
• Communicate with internal teams to resolve coding questions.
• Adhere to HIPAA and compliance standards.

FlexStaff is seeking a Certified Professional Coder for our client—a medical administration practice—located in Westchester, NY.

Qualifications

• Current CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification required
• 2+ years of professional experience, preferably with anesthesia and/or surgical coding
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding guidelines
• Experience with EPIC preferred

Position Summary

You will review clinical documentation and accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 codes for anesthesia services.

Schedule

• Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
• Hours:
  • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• 1-hour paid lunch

Key Responsibilities

• Review handwritten and electronic anesthesia records to determine procedures and diagnoses
• Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes in accordance with current guidelines
• Post charges and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
