Summary of Job Duties: REMOTE WORKER - Position Will Work From Home. The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist reads/interprets health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures affecting the outpatient encounter visit.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Understanding of CPT and ICD-10.
  • Certifications: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Health Information Management.
  • Two years of coding experience.

Additional Information:

  • Assess the adequacy of health record documentation to support diagnoses and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and terminology to assign accurate codes.
  • Maintain understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems.
  • Review and perform data charge entries for outpatient visits.
  • Organize work to review and prioritize work queues daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
