Summary of Job Duties:

This position is remote. The Certified Procedural Coding Specialist - Inpatient reads and interprets health record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures affecting inpatient encounters, assesses documentation adequacy, completes final record reviews, and collaborates with Clinical Documentation Specialists to address deficiencies.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Understanding of CPT and ICD-10
  • Certifications: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA. CCS must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor's in Health Information Management
  • Two years of coding experience
Additional Information:

Responsibilities include assessing documentation, applying coding knowledge, reviewing data charges, organizing work queues, and performing other duties as assigned.

Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.
