Job summary

PALA Interstate, LLC in Geismar, LA seeks an experienced welder to perform Stick and TIG welding on carbon and stainless piping in an industrial setting. You will read and interpret blueprints and welding procedures, position parts, and ensure welds meet quality standards.

Candidates must have minimum four years as a certified welder (or two years as a certified welder plus two years of related training), be able to pass site welding tests, and work safely in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years as certified welder or 2 years as Certified Welder plus 2 years ABC or equivalent training.
• Experience in stick and TIG pipe welding.
• Experience welding carbon, stainless steel and various alloys.
• Must pass required welding test as required by the specific job site.

Responsibilities

• Reads and studies layout, blueprints, diagram, work order and welding procedures to determine work to be done.
• Plans work in logical sequence and determines tools/equipment needed.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions and examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Performs Stick(SMAW), TIG(GATW), and Flux Core Welding.
