Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I to join our acute care laboratory team. The role performs skin puncture and venipuncture across all ages under supervision, supporting accurate specimen collection for analysis.

You will handle basic clerical duties, data entry, and specimen transport, maintain clean storage areas, stock supplies, and assist with referrals to reference labs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and valid CPT I certification required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages for specimen collection.
• Enter data, file and handle telephonic communication under supervision of Laboratory Director/Manager.
• Prepare and process specimens across microbiology, immunology, hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry.
• Maintain storage areas, equipment, and assist with sample pickup/delivery and related tasks.
