UC San Diego Health’s Hillcrest Clinical Lab is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Tech to perform specimen collection, processing, and related duties under direct supervision. The role features rotating 8-hour shifts, including Sundays and Saturdays, with per diem status at 20% appointment.
The phlebotomy technician will ensure accurate labeling, safe specimen handling, and excellent patient service while complying with infection control and safety standards. CPT certification is required.

Rotating, 8-Hour Rotating Shifts, Sunday-Saturday
Under direct and constant supervision, performs specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks, customer service, clerical duties, effective communication with laboratory customers, problem resolution, record keeping, supply inventory and maintenance, as well as cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional duties will include the operation of instruments, preventative maintenance as appropriate to each section/department assigned. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. May be asked to travel to another location to perform assigned duties and assist with staffing coverages.
Annual Full Pay Range: $76,275 - $76,275 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $36.53 - $36.53
