As the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor in UCSDH Outpatient Pharmacies, this role is essential to ensuring high-quality patient care across various areas, including Hospital Discharge, Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Ambulatory Care, Employee Health, and Retail Pharmacy. Our outpatient pharmacies focus on dispensing and distributing medication, screening prescriptions for appropriateness, performing interventions, administering immunizations, and ensuring accurate billing for multiple payers such as third-party insurers, Medicaid, and Medicare Part B and D.
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor oversees outpatient pharmacy technicians, coordinating daily operations and supporting their roles in drug dispensing, billing, and payment processing. This position includes but is not limited to direct supervision, managing schedules, recruiting & hiring, timekeeping, performance evaluations, goal setting, training, fostering a collaborative, efficient, and compliant work environment.
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and collaborating with Pharmacy leadership, this role contributes to excellent patient care by promoting strong relationships within and across departments while upholding standards required by various accrediting bodies and federal and state regulations.

Annual Full Pay Range: $73,800 - $131,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $35.34 - $62.84
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
