Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Phlebotomist and hold a valid California Phlebotomy license (CPT).
• 1–2 years of directly related lab experience.
• Knowledge of Scientific Terminology and laboratory regulations.
• Understanding of infection control, patient safety, and hospital isolation protocols.
• Experience with customer service, including assisting customers with questions and concerns.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, accessioning, and phlebotomy.
• Provide customer service and clerical support; effective communication with laboratory customers.
• Maintain record keeping, supply inventory, and equipment cleaning; keep a safe work environment.
• Operate instruments and perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Travel to other UCSD sites as required.
