Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPT I certification is required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Collect blood from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture and properly label specimens.
• Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing and ensure proper processing and storage.
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain specimen integrity and accurate test results.
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies and ensure they are properly sanitized.
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures with minimal supervision as needed.
