Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician to perform vein punctures and specimen collection across age groups for laboratory analysis. The role involves data entry, specimen processing across microbiology, chemistry, hematology, and more, and may include cross-department support and night shifts.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring proper phlebotomy technique, and providing courteous patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal phlebotomy training program or on-the-job training with competency.
• Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages.
• Handle data entry, filing, telephone communication and clerical duties.
• Demonstrate proper phlebotomy technique and safety.
• Process specimens across microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis and blood bank.
• Stock and order routine supplies and maintain storage areas.
• May assist with sample collection from hospital/OR and sorting, inventory, and general duties.
• May work multi-departments or night shifts.
• May be delegated as Phlebotomy Lead.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
