Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Certified Phlebotomist (CPT) to join a busy laboratory team. This full-time, rotating shift position collects and processes blood specimens for testing, labels samples, and ensures proper handling.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting with blood drives, and delivering specimens to the lab. Candidates should have a high school diploma, accredited phlebotomy training, ASCP or NHA certification, and BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy preferred.
• Certification from ASCP or NHA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Formal Phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
• Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies.
• Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
