Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory. You will label, process, and deliver specimens, and collect samples using appropriate techniques across age groups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy preferred.
• Certification from ASCP or NHA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Formal Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• A Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.
• Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
• Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies.
• Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.
