Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with prescription processing, patient service, and inventory in a fast-paced retail setting. You will learn and apply HIPAA standards, assist with insurance billing, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality while delivering friendly care.

This role requires high school diploma and a national certification, with vaccines administration where allowed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Pharmacy Technician license required; must maintain license.
Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment.
Accept new written prescription orders and telephoned refill requests under supervising pharmacist.
Contact doctors to take or request refill prescriptions as needed.
Gather and maintain accurate patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers and prepare prescriptions to be mailed.
