Job summary

ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah in Wisconsin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Certified to support accurate medication selection, sterile and non-sterile product preparation, and timely distribution within a busy hospital pharmacy.

Under the direction of the pharmacist, you will perform delegated tasks, maintain inventory, complete documentation, and help ensure patient safety by obtaining accurate admission medication histories and following all regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred • Must be 18 years of age
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification (CPhT)
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State of Wisconsin

Responsibilities

• Processes medication orders on time to progress the patient's plan of care.
• Follows current policies and regulations around preparation of sterile compounded products.
• Under the direction of the pharmacist, the pharmacy technician carries out delegated tasks to uphold the five rights—right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, and the right frequency.
• Completes documentation on time and in compliance with organizational, state, and federal statutes and policies for pharmaceutical handling.
• Obtains an accurate admission medication history to ensure patient safety for the care team.
• Maintains inventory levels, anticipates needs, and places orders to prevent stockouts.
• Responds to patient-related queries and directs them to pharmacists for clarification on drug information and interactions.

Education
