Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy department in a fast-paced retail setting. You will support pharmacists in processing prescriptions, insurance billing, inventory, and customer service, while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Role may include administering vaccines where permitted by law and required certification, and working with a team to ensure accurate dispensing and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program; must maintain CE credits.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.
• Previous experience as pharmacy technician or clerk preferred.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Accept new prescriptions and handle refill requests under pharmacist supervision.
• Process prescriptions and assist with insurance billing and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and label prescriptions and assist in dispensing.
• Administer vaccines where permitted by law and required certification.
• Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and secure handling of private health information.
