Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with prescriptions, insurance billing, and customer service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy. You will learn medication preparation, labeling, and inventory while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

The role requires high school diploma, national certification, and ongoing CE. Vaccination certification may be required; experience as a technician or clerk is preferred for this team-focused position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a national program; continuing education required to maintain license.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, per law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Accept new prescription orders and telephoned refill requests under supervising pharmacist.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing and labeling.
• Submit insurance claims and help with third‑party billing and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate patient information and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
• Stock pharmacy supplies, check in items, and log invoices as needed.
• Perform cash transactions accurately and support vaccine administration where allowed.
