Hy-Vee Pharmacy is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in prescription processing, insurance billing, and customer service in our Illinois store. This fast-paced retail environment requires accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, active license as a pharmacy technician, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Vaccination certification may be required where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a national program required; must maintain continuing education requirements to keep license active.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise and judgment.
• Accept new written prescription orders and telephoned refill requests under supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctors to take or request refill prescriptions as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare labels and prescriptions for mailing.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing and troubleshooting.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report medication errors.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices.
• Perform cash transactions accurately.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and confidentiality per HIPAA and store guidelines.
