Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in prescription processing, insurance billing, and customer service at our Kansas Mission location.

You will assist with labeling, dispensing medications, and preparing prescriptions for mailing, while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Vaccination duties only where certified, and inventory control remain part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a national program is required.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.
• Maintain continuing education requirements to keep license active.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise and judgment.
• Process new written prescriptions and refill requests under supervising pharmacist.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare and affix labels, and prepare prescriptions to be mailed or filed.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing and troubleshooting.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and maintain cleanliness of the dispensing area.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and participate in special projects.
