Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center's Burnet Campus in Cincinnati, OH is hiring a Pharmacy Technician II to rotate through inpatient/main pharmacy. This full-time role requires 40 hours/week on 1st & 2nd shifts with every other weekend, and offers pay of $23.00-$27.00 hourly plus $3.50 shift differential and $1.00 weekend differential.

  • Have at least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Be licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Ohio.

What you’ll do (what your day really looks like)

You’ll rotate through key areas of the inpatient pharmacy, working closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to:Prepare and distribute medications accurately and efficientlySupport medication delivery for patient-specific doses across unitsReplenish automated dispensing cabinets and maintain inventoryCompound sterile and non-sterile medicationsCollaborate with pharmacists and care teams to ensure quality and safetyThis is hands-on, detail-driven work where accuracy, teamwork, and urgency matter.

DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Medication Orders - Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses. Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms. Delivery of patient specific doses. Prepare and perform ADC replenishment. Performs outpatient phone triage. Performs insurance adjudication. Performs medication storage inspections.
  • Compounding - Performs Sterile compounding or non-sterile hazardous compounding.
  • Tech Check Tech - Under authorized program is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.
  • Medication Management - Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.
  • Phone Triage - Performs inpatient phone triage.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ year of work experience in a Pharmacy Technician discipline
  • Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified
  • Other National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required. Approved certification is through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association.
PREFERRED
  • Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Tech in a hospital environment
