Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Burnet Campus is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a full-time role in the Pharmacy department. You will perform unit dose preparation, ADC replenishment, outpatient triage, and compounding, supporting inpatient and decentralized operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years’ experience, and active PTCB and OH Board certifications (CPhT acceptable).

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Starting Pay Range: $20.57 – $25.72 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

Responsibilities

• Medication Orders – Performs unit dose preparation for cart fill and first doses; non‑sterile, non‑hazard dose preparation for first fill or cart fill, including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms; delivery of patient‑specific doses.
• ADC replenishment preparation and delivery.
• Outpatient phone triage; insurance adjudication; medication storage inspections.
• Compounding – Performs sterile compounding or non‑sterile hazardous compounding.
• Tech Check Tech – Under authorized program, is able to check the work of another pharmacy technician.
• Medication Management – Manages medication doses on the nursing unit in decentralized pharmacy operations.
• Phone triage – Performs inpatient phone triage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of work experience in a Pharmacy Technician discipline.
• Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified; other National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
• Approved certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Preferred

• Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Tech in a hospital environment.
