Ascension's Saint Thomas Medical Partners Midtown and Saint Thomas Heart in Nashville, TN, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacy Services. The role focuses on maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds, and managing inventory, with a Full-Time daytime schedule.

You will work with Pharmacists to deliver distributive services and ensure regulatory storage; licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following: Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain automated dispensing systems to ensure seamless, secure medication access for clinical units.
• Accurately prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage medications according to strict CPhT safety standards.
• Manage the pharmacy's lifeblood by overseeing inventory, receiving supplies, and ensuring all stock meets regulatory storage requirements.
• Partner with Pharmacists to deliver high-level distributive services and maintain the technical integrity of the pharmacy department.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration.
• And One or more of the following Required:
  • Certified Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Pharmacy students actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy are not required to have certification/registration.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
