Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed/Certified pharmacy technician required; maintain certification.
• Previous pharmacy tech or clerk experience preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service to pharmacy customers.
• Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
• Accept new prescriptions and refill requests under supervision.
• Contact doctors for refills as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drugs for dispensing.
• Prepare labels and prepare prescriptions to be mailed.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing; report medication errors.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices.
• Assist in cash transactions; vaccinate where allowed by law.
• Maintain cleanliness and confidentiality (HIPAA) in dispensing area.
• Adhere to pharmacy regulations; work as a team; arrive on time.
