Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in prescription processing, insurance billing, and customer service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy.

You will assist with vaccine administration where allowed, maintain accurate patient data, and help with inventory and dispensing under supervision. A high school diploma and national technician certification are required, with continuing education to keep licensure active.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a certified national program; must maintain continuing education requirements to keep license active
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and handling inquiries
• Accept new prescription orders and refill requests under supervision
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing
• Prepare and affix labels to prescription containers and prepare prescriptions to be mailed
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party insurance billing and troubleshooting
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report medication errors
• Order, check in, and stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable
