Advocate Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Myers Park location in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role supports licensed pharmacists with preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.

You will handle medication procurement, inventory, and documentation, while maintaining compliance with USP standards and organizational policies. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for patient safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Be certified or able to obtain CPhT or ExCPT within 18 months.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy.
• 1 year retail pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with technical duties for meds prep and distribution.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs.
• Assist with medication distribution and dose checking.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Participate in inventory control and outdate checking.
• Document removal/stocking of controlled substances per policy.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards; sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Ensure proper storage and adherence to policies.
• Record patient demographics and perform data entry into pharmacy system.
• Support training for pharmacy technicians as applicable.
