Responsibilities include preparing unit dose medications, IV admixtures, labeling and documenting medications, and delivering orders to units while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and safety policies.

Qualifications

• National certification in pharmacy tech required.
• State license or registration to practice as a pharmacy technician in Tennessee required.
• Strong knowledge of drug names, dosages and abbreviations.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacists with standard pharmacy services under supervision.
• Prepares unit dose medications and fills unit dose carts.
• Calculates and weighs ingredients for non-sterile products.
• Prepares, labels and documents IV products with aseptic technique.
• Maintains accurate records of medications and patient charges.
• Delivers medications to patient care units and updates patient profiles accordingly.
• Performs order entry and data entry in the pharmacy computer system.
• Keeps the workspace clean, organized and compliant with policies and HIPAA.
