Job summary

WellSpan Health's WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to assist with preparation and distribution of medications. The role requires pharmacy education, training, and PTCB certification or equivalent, with advancement potential through the Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder.

Responsibilities include stocking deliveries, labeling and dispensing medications, inventory management, recalls, and mentoring new technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• Licenses: Registered Pharmacy Technician upon hire; Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire; Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies.
• Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.
• Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital.
• Delivers medications to off-site locations.
• Manages pharmacy inventory using electronic systems.
• Monitors product expirations and removes outdated stock from inventory.
• Responds to product recalls.
• Compounds non-sterile and sterile medication preparations.
• Cleans and disinfects procedures.
• Trains/mentors new pharmacy technicians and interns.
• Maintains additional criteria per Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder.
• Provides outstanding customer service and fosters teamwork.
