Job summary

Indiana Regional Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing operations in the hospital pharmacy. You will prepare, label, and package medications under supervision; deliver to nursing units; enter orders in the pharmacy system; and assist with inventory, billing, and reconciliation.

The role requires a high school diploma, healthcare experience, and a CPhT certification within 2 years of hire, plus PA State Board registration within 6 months. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Comparable healthcare experience will be considered.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 2 years of hire and maintain certification by PTCB standards is required.
• Must complete registration with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, and package medications under supervision.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and patient care areas in a timely manner.
• Enter and maintain medication orders in the pharmacy information system.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations per USP standards (IV admixtures, chemotherapy, TPN if applicable).
• Maintain accurate medication inventory, restock automated dispensing machines, and conduct periodic inventory audits.
• Assist in medication reconciliation and billing processes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and state/federal pharmacy regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pharmacy work areas.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
