Job summary

WellSpan Health in Ephrata, PA is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to assist with the preparation and distribution of medications. The role requires pharmacy education, training, and certification, with potential advancement based on job performance and ladder criteria.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with 7AM-4PM shifts, offering a benefits package including health, retirement, PTO, education support, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician upon hire is required.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician upon hire is required.
• Advanced certification upon hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies.
• Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.
• Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital.
• Delivers medications to off-site locations.
• Manages pharmacy inventory using electronic systems.
• Monitors expirations and removes outdated stock.
• Responds to product recalls.
• Compounds non-sterile and sterile medication preparations.
• Cleans and disinfects procedures.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering phones and maintaining supplies.
• Trains/mentors new pharmacy technicians and interns.
• Adheres to Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder criteria.
