Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and filling medications for inpatient and outpatient services under supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and staff pharmacists.

The role supports daily department initiatives, ensures medications and tools are available for the clinical team, and participates in IV preparation, Pyxis replenishment, inventory management, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year sterile compounding experience.
• Passing score of 90% on calculation, aseptic preparation, safe handling of hazardous drugs exams.
• CPhT certification and RPT registration upon hire.
• PTCB certification within 12 months or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and staff according to Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders for review and dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines; monitors refrigerator temperatures and documents actions.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Dispenses medications and restocks inventory; documents waste and restocks items.
• Performs billing/crediting to ensure proper medication billing and documentation.
• Collects physician orders and routes to pharmacists as needed.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas and restocks carts with proper documentation.
• Uses aseptic technique to prepare IVs and transports them to nursing units.
• Maintains competencies related to IV labs, Pyxis, and automation systems.
• Reviews inspections and ensures expiration dates and storage conditions are correct.
