Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician IV Compounding Specialist to join our pharmacy team. This role focuses on compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV admixtures and supporting daily department operations. The position requires active TN licensure and program credentials, with IV room training within six months of hire. • ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Program graduate; Associates degree or 2 years experience.

• I.V. Room training certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Pharmacy Technician IV Compounding Specialist is primarily responsible for compounding hazardous and non-hazardous intravenous admixtures. This position will assist in IV room training, performing monthly surface sampling, monitoring proper hand hygiene, garbing and aseptic technique among coworkers. This position will be proficient in using all devices specific to the preparation of IV admixtures. This position will assist pharmacists at in all daily activities related to department workflow while knowing and acting in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position assists in the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of IV medications, supplies, regulatory compliance, and maintains the ability to use all equipment and technology necessary to fulfill job responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

What qualifications you will need:

• Active National Certification and Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• Graduate of ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Program,Associates Degreeor 2 Years Equivalent Experience.
• Completion of ACPE Board Certified Sterile Compound Aseptic Tech program
• Active National Certification and Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Technician licensure
• Knowledge of general pharmacy practices and procedures.
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with coworkers, vendors, and other hospital staff in all situations
• Graduate of ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Program,Associates Degreeor 2 Years Equivalent Experience.
• Completion of ACPE Board Certified Sterile Compound Aseptic Tech program
• I.V. Room training certification within six (6) months of hire

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation.
