Job summary

University Hospitals in Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to support pharmacists in retrieving, processing, and distributing medications under supervision. Duties include sterile/non-sterile compounding, accurate labeling, and ensuring timely delivery to units.

Outpatient processing, insurance adjudication, and prior authorization are part of daily responsibilities. Must have Ohio CPhT license and a high school diploma or GED, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license in Ohio is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications under supervision.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded formulations following USP guidelines.
• Ensure timely delivery of patient-specific medications to nursing units and prioritize STAT orders.
• Manage stock in ADCs and pharmacy systems, perform routine counts, and prevent stockouts.
• Process prescriptions including insurance adjudication and prior authorization submittal for outpatient scenarios.
• Orient and train new staff and maintain PHI compliance throughout duties.
