Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Certified Personal Trainer in Flemington, NJ to work closely with members, understand fitness goals, and create personalized workout plans. The role offers part-time hourly work (minimum 12 hours) with opportunities for full-time (40 hours) and hourly pay between $23.00 and $30.00.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small group training, program design, and coaching with a focus on building relationships.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized personal training certificate and knowledge of exercise science, techniques, nutrition, and injury prevention.
• Ability to develop individualized and group fitness programs.
• Lifesaving certifications (CPR & First Aid) - training provided.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions and small group workouts.
• Assess clients' fitness levels and design customized fitness programs.
• Demonstrate exercises and provide guidance on proper technique and form.
• Provide exceptional customer service, fostering client relationships.
• Level II Trainers should have the additional expertise in leading group exercise classes and small group training sessions; building community through donor-funded Pathway programs; creating safe, welcoming wellness spaces during peak hours (15 hours minimum part-time).
