YMCA in Flemington, NJ is seeking a Certified Personal Trainer to work one-on-one and small group sessions, helping members achieve fitness goals with personalized plans.

The role offers part-time hourly work (minimum 12 hours per week) with potential for full-time opportunities; compensation ranges from $23 to $30 per hour, plus benefits like YMCA membership and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized personal training certificate (NASM, ACE, ISSA, etc.) and strong knowledge of exercise science, techniques, nutrition, and injury prevention
• Ability to develop individualized and group fitness programs
• Lifesaving certifications (CPR & First Aid) - training provided
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions and small group workouts
• Assess clients' fitness levels and design customized fitness programs
• Demonstrate exercises and provide guidance on proper technique and form
• Provide exceptional customer service, fostering client relationships
• Level II Trainers should lead group exercise classes and small group training sessions, and support donor-funded Pathway programs

What is needed for this job:

  • Creating safe and welcoming environments in our wellness spaces during peak evening and weekend hours (15 hours minimum part-time)
