Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA in Somerset County, New Jersey, seeks a Part-time Certified Personal Trainer to guide clients, assess goals, and promote training packages. The position is fully on-site, offering opportunities to grow a client base while contributing to a leading nonprofit dedicated to healthy living and youth development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; formal education in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, or Kinesiology is preferred.
• Must actively workout and maintain your own fitness program.
• Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACE, ISSA, NCSF, etc.).
• CPR/FA/AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and monitors clients' use of cardio, strength, and flexibility equipment for safety.
• Role models safe equipment use and helps sell personal training packages to grow clientele.
• Completes admin tasks for each client's fitness plan and logs in Appointment King (training system).
• Renews personal training certification, stays current with training programs, and maintains a personal fitness brand.
• Ensures all members feel welcomed, included, and connected by providing superior service.
• Assess client goals, medical history, and fitness status to develop relevant training programs.
