Job summary

Assistance Plus in Waterville, ME is seeking a Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) to collaborate with the behavioral home team in delivering well-coordinated and integrated care to youth and families.

The CIPSS will provide leadership and technical assistance in developing BHHO peer support services, while sharing experiences with coworkers and community providers. The role requires flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have CIPSS certification or CIPSS provisional certification.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to advocate for client access to services.
• Experience sharing lived mental health experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support to clients and BHHO team.
• Identify individual needs for peer supports through interactions with the BHHO team.
• Act as a peer role model and demonstrate recovery-oriented strategies.
• Assist clients in understanding their rights and responsibilities as service recipients.
• Network with programs and advocate for community opportunities for clients.
• Attend BHHO staff meetings and participate in supervision.
