Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to provide recovery-oriented services (in-home or community-based) to individuals with major mental health diagnoses. The candidate must be a self-identified individual who has received or is receiving services as part of the state priority group for Serious Mental Illness, as defined in MH Bulletin OMH-94-04. The role involves using personal recovery experiences to support clients, utilizing personal stories and examples. Reliable transportation is required to perform job duties.

Requirements

• Experience as a person with lived mental health recovery experience, capable of supporting others in similar situations.
• Completion and certification of Peer Specialist Certification training curriculum approved by the Peer Support Director.
• Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Board Certification (PCB) immediately after passing the PCB Examination.
• Must obtain agency-required clearances, including child abuse and working with children.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with the ability to operate a vehicle safely in various weather conditions.
• Minimum age: 21 years old, with a driving record that meets the DCI Vehicle Fleet Policy.
