Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services.
• A minimum of two years of demonstrated recovery from a substance use and/or mental health disorder.
• Ability to pass a drug screen.
• Excellent verbal and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery education and support to Cedar Recovery's patients at all phases of treatment.
• Facilitate recovery planning activities with patients.
• Identify and coordinate community resources for patients (housing, food, work, education, relationships, etc.).
• Coordinate care with providers with whom patients are engaged with via Cedar's PIC Center.
• Act as a community liaison for Cedar to develop referral relationships and promote the reputation of Cedar in the areas Cedar serves
• Link individuals to appropriate community-based groups and resources
• Remain connected by phone or email to Cedar's patients for purposes of ensuring their on-going success and engagement in their respective program
• Lead individual or group peer recovery sessions as directed by the peer's supervisor
