Job summary

Herzog, in partnership with TransitAmerica Services, Inc. / ACI, seeks certified Locomotive Engineers for CTRail passenger service in New Haven, CT. The position pays $51.01 per hour.

Duties include safe operation of passenger trains, inspections, communicating with dispatch, and ensuring passenger safety. Qualifications: high school diploma, valid CFR Part 240 engineer certification, 3 years of locomotive engineer experience, and clean driving history.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a valid Engineer Certification under 49 CFR Part 240.
• Three years of safe, increasingly responsible railroad experience as a certified locomotive engineer; passenger rail operations preferable.
• No railroad operating rule violations or positive drug/alcohol tests in the past five years.
• Ability to operate diesel locomotives and passenger control cars.

Responsibilities

• Operate rail passenger equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform inspections, tests, and necessary paperwork.
• Coordinate with Dispatch Center and maintenance to resolve safety issues.
• Provide customer service to passengers and interface with CTDOT and host railroad personnel.
