Job description

The Transportation Engineer 3 (Engineering) position oversees either the Department's Bus Capital Plan (Facilities Design Unit) or Rail Capital Plan (Transit Design Unit) implementation. The role involves engineering and project management oversight of consultant engineers to deliver bus facility designs or rail station and maintenance facility designs. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position located in Newington, CT, with hybrid and alternate work schedule options available.

Key qualifications:

• Current State of Connecticut employee with at least six months of full-time service
• Valid driver's license required; must be available to travel for training, conferences, meetings, and field reviews
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Engineer in Training licensure or other job-relevant licenses/certifications
• Complex engineering design and project management experience
• Experience overseeing consultant engineers and managing capital improvement projects
