Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the State of Colorado.
• Eligible for or have taken the NBCOT OT assistant exam.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in evaluating patient functional status as delegated by the registered OT.
• Assists in teaching new skills and retraining daily activities for independence.
• Maintains clinical records and reports changes in patient condition.
• Submits clinical documentation per organizational policy.
• Follows treatment plans and documents patient progress and responses.
• Maintains communication with care teams to ensure coordinated services.
• Attends in-services and team meetings to ensure comprehensive plans.
• Identifies needs for other home care services and assists with referrals.
• Instructs family/caregivers in treatment regimes as delegated.
• Supervised by the registered OT no less than every 30 days.
