Job summary

The CORE Institute | HOPCo is seeking a Medical Assistant to support orthopedics and related services. Responsibilities include rooming patients, documenting vitals, and coordinating with providers to ensure efficient visits.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, CMA certification, and experience with EMR systems. The role emphasizes patient education, HIPAA compliance, and accurate data entry in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CMA or equivalent certification with current professional membership per state or national body.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care.
• Prepare the patient for visit with the provider including rooming, obtaining vitals, and reviewing intake paperwork.
• Enter and update data accurately in the EMR system.
• Maintain exam room standards and ensure rooms are restocked and cleaned as needed.
• Assist the provider with prescriptions and completion of medical forms (e.g., work release, FMLA).
• Respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR.
• Scan clinical documents into EMR and prepare patient electronic charts for visits.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant environment and promote a positive patient experience.
