Job summary

The CORE Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant to support orthopedic and spine care, including patient preparation, vitals, documentation, and EMR data entry. You will assist providers with procedures, coordinate patient education, and help manage clinic workflows in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualified candidates have MA certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA), BLS, and recent graduation or experience in orthopedics; pass MA competency within six months. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management preferred.
• Graduate from a formal training program within last 12–18 months and CMA/AMT/AAMA/CCMA/NCMA certification with active status.
• Must pass MA competency exam within six months of employment.
• Certification or additional training meeting meaningful-use requirements is required.
• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma/GED and completion of an accredited MA training program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between patient and provider during care.
• Prepare patient for visits: rooming, vitals, intake paperwork, imaging, injections, data entry into EMR.
• Assist with patient education and coordination of care.
• Support provider with prescriptions and forms (work release, FMLA).
• Document actions in EMR and respond to voicemails within 24 hours.
• Maintain exam rooms, restock supplies, and manage room cleanliness.
• Handle scheduling, PROs, and Quality Payment Programs as part of clinic goals.
