Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL seeks an Operating Room Tech to prepare sterile supplies, maintain sterile fields, and support surgeons during procedures. This full-time day shift role requires a high school diploma, ORT training or equivalent experience, and current BLS certification.

Candidates should have experience scrubbing in varied surgical specialties and be able to work closely with the surgical team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with 3+ years in surgical setting preferred.
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties.
• Experience scrubbing minor procedures in specialty areas such as ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during cases and assist surgeon with supplies and instruments.

• Department: Surgery
• Schedule: Full Time Days 11a-7:30p
• Facility: Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital
• Location: Evanston, IL 60202

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• 3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• 4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• 5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
