Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support outpatient eye care. You will perform ophthalmic tests, assist with procedures, and handle administrative tasks to keep patient flow efficient.

The role requires a COA credential, at least 6 months of supervised ophthalmology clinic experience or ICA training, and strong communication. On-site position at 243-245 Charles Street; 40 hours weekly; day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• COA credential through JCAHPO required.
• At least 6 months of ophthalmology clinic experience or ICA training required.

Responsibilities

• Performs ophthalmic tests, imaging, and assessments to prep patients for examinations.
• Identifies and administers diagnostic eye drops as directed.
• Assists ophthalmologists with minor procedures (laser, injections, cryotherapy, oculoplastic).
• Measures and records patient vital signs as needed.
• Monitors and maintains supplies in examination rooms and clinical areas.
• Cleans and maintains ophthalmic equipment per guidelines.
