Overview

Join NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens, where patient-centered care and professional growth go hand in hand. We’re seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to provide top-tier support to our practitioners while ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, You Will
  • Perform ocular screenings and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Maintain infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
  • Update and review patient records to support quality measures.
  • Prepare patients for examination and perform post examination procedures.
  • Provide both clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations.

This is a full-time position based out of NewYork-Presbyterian/Queen’s Eye Center at 174-15 Horace Harding Expressway, Fresh Meadows, NY 11365.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; hours are typically between 7:00am–5:00pm. Scheduled hours vary, with 1-2 late shifts.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Certified Ophthalmic Assistant program
  • At least one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant with an understanding of infection control principles, and an ability to perform basic ophthalmic tests and screenings.
  • Maintains current certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant
